The West Island Black Community Association, WIBCA is a chartered, nonprofit community organization founded in 1982 to respond to the needs of the community. The early programs were centered mainly on youth development in the form of sports and life skills. The major objective is to help our young people achieve their highest potential. All Board members are volunteers who accept the Association's objective of serving the communities of the West Island and surrounding areas. Membership Membership is open to anyone who shares our aims and objectives. Services are provided to all, regardless of ethnic origin, colour, gender, religion or race.

Special emphasis is placed on the education of youth and adults. WIBCA offers Tutorials; Homework Assistance, Sports activities and a Summer Day Camp.
It also conducts workshops, presents lectures and discussions in topics such as: Health, Security, Parenting Skills and Financial Management. WIBCA has also established a Drop-in Center to provide a safe place for our young people to connect with their peers and other members of the community. The Scholarship Program supports outstanding High School and College (CEGEP) graduates as they seek to further their education.
