The West Island Black Community Association (WIBCA)
The West Island Black Community Association (WIBCA) was created in 1982. It was born out of the need for an organized approach in finding solutions to problems which affected the well-being of Blacks in the West island community of Montreal, in particular, and Quebec society in general. It is a charitable, non-profit community organization.
As the longest serving Black Community association in the West Island of Montreal, we serve the Black Communities of the municipalities of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval, Ile Bizard, Ile Perrot, and Ste-Geneviève.
Membership is open to all members of the Black Community and people from the wider community who share our aims and objectives. WIBCA also has associate members and these are, generally, persons who may or may not live in the West Island but are sympathetic to our cause.
Services are provided to all, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, religion or race.
