The West Island Black Community Association, WIBCA, is a chartered, non-profit community organization founded in 1982 to respond to the needs of the community.
The major objective is to help our young people achieve their highest potential. All Board members are volunteers who accept the Association's objectives of serving the communities of the West Island and surrounding areas. Membership is open to anyone who shares our aims and objectives. Services are provided to all, regardless of ethnic origin, color, gender, religion or race.
Focus on Youth and Seniors
Special emphasis is placed on the education of youth and adults. WIBCA offers tutorials, Homework assistance, Sports activities, a Summer Day Camp, Adult Education, Teen Leadership and Seniors' Programs.
WIBCA conducts workshops and presents lectures and discussions in topics such as: Health, Security, Parenting Skills and Financial Management. Also, in partnership with Riverdale High School (RHS), a Drop-in Centre has been established to provide a safe place for our young people to connect with their peers and other members of the community.
